Wind, the breath of the Universe 8 months ago
That is a great title. Air or wind is next to the subtlest element, ether. For everyday health and meditative success the breath is so important. Most adults breathe in the upper chest only, using the muscles of the chest instead of the diaphragm. The breath really happens in the belly, as you pointed out.Pranayama is actually working with your own prana through the breath. It’s not so much breath control as it is energy control. Because breath, or air, is so close to energy, it’s used to work with life force. Prana is energy and ayama is to suspend or restrain. Pranayama is a method of controlling prana or life force through the regulation of breathing.Restrain is the first limb of Yoga. In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Yama is divided into 5 parts:Non-injuryTruthfulnessNon-stealingContinenceNon-greed Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog ..Generating Compassion with Reiki Distant Healing Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Peer, support group or mastermind accountability is super helpful. To me, it’s only there to mirror the accountability you hopefully have inside. That’s the driver.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog post..Let’s conjugate to “Heal”Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Make a Decision, Any Decision: Lea Woodward Interview 8 months ago
I come from a long line of nomads, you know tents, goats and horses. Essentially a nomad’s life is ruled by weather/seasons and land that provides food for animals. Their needs are few but vital at a level of survival. The modern nomad is fortunate to have the Internet. It’s like the greatest trading post and you don’t have to be location-specific to trade. I still value roots, however. Have roots, will travel is my motto.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog post..Let’s conjugate to “Heal”Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Falling In Love With You 8 months ago
The most important relationship you have is the relationship with yourself. This isn’t a from of narcissism. Just loving self-acceptance and worth. Without that premise, all else is doomed. Law of Attraction and the buffer of time 8 months ago
Look at what humanity has manifested throughout history with the buffer of time! I can’t imagine what this world would be like without it. We’re definitely not at the mastery level of instant thought manifestation. We have too many shadow elements still ruling us. I’m glad you addressed the LOA. It’s really the law of unifying with your desire inside, rather than attracting anything from the outside, but that discussion is for another time. Wisdom Points - Text 8 months ago
Like you, I appreciate the opportunity to be informed by different traditions in our connected times. Wisdom is nonsectarian. That's why sometimes it saddens me when there's misunderstanding, dogmatism or prejudice. These are beautiful truths expressed by Ajahn Chah. Thank you for bring them to us.Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Getting Out of My Own Way 8 months ago
Another culprit is list-making. Endless lists & the time it takes to make them. Many times we know exactly what action must be taken & our memory is good enough to remember what’s on the to-do list. Instead of taking the action(s), we make more lists and then focus on something nonessential. There’s something very refreshing about simply starting.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog post..Some extraordinary musicRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Aspects Of Consciousness 8 months ago
The existence of Mind independent of an organ such as the brain is a core Buddhist teaching. The Vedic tradition also has much to offer Consciousness studies. It’s also true that Mind is everywhere and definitely not only trapped in the brain or central nervous system.I’m both encouraged and dismayed by modern research and neuroscience. Despite anomalies observed, science wants to still explain it all within its own worldview. In the quote above it says, “One theory held that her brain—and the conscious mind it produced…”How gray matter produces mind or consciousness is beyond me. The wisdom traditions tell us that Consciousness is primary, as Vasistha’s words illustrate.Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Spiritual Experience vs. Realization (or What’s The Point, Anyway?) 8 months ago
Meditation or any spiritual practice can become another opportunity to bolster the ego. That’s why there are teachings around techniques. Meditation is really where teachings are experienced. So if the teachings promote kindness, meditation gives you the way to become kind inside. Then you live kindness and it becomes part of everything you are and do. Techniques alone can lead to pride. It’s up to each person to internalize the teachings that meditation is but one aspect.Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Your Thoughts Are Not Who You Are 9 months ago
Ego is software we need to function on this physical plane. Like other software, it acts up, but we can’t do without it. It gets a virus, freezes, won’t start up…In the end it’s part of us & necessary for 3D life. So, welcome it to the team that is you. It has essential functions. Let it know that it’s part of a team, has a place, but not to overreach. As long as you have the reins and ego feels safe, all is good. There’s actually a way to have ego receive instruction and improve itself. To blend into the greater you. And a healthy ego is needed as a foundation for spiritual growth . I don’t mean healthy in the sense that one is all “ego,” but healthy in the sense that there’s basic psychological balance. Trying to build spiritually on an unbalanced foundation has unexpected dangers looming. So befriend your ego and tell it to take its place, but not more.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog’s most recent blog post..Reiki One-Liner now at 200Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Compassion vs. Sympathy by Nadia Ballas-Ruta. 9 months ago
Compassion all the way. What I teach is that compassion is a resourceful place to be. It has inherent wisdom and strength. Sympathy is too much in the realm of the weak end of human emotion. Compassion creates a container where both grieving & well-wisher are served.Read more comments by Pamir Kiciman

3 Ways to Break Procrastination’s Hold Over Us 9 months ago
Good points Alex. I also find that embracing downtime is a productivity-enhancer. You come out of it sharper, lighter & more efficient and get things done in half the time with time to spare, rather than forcing the issue when it feels like drudgery. Of course, it can’t turn into another ‘escape.’Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog post..Healing Resources: Book ReviewRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Getting to Know Myself 9 months ago
“Don’t should on yourself.” A cliche but it works. Guilt & jealousy are complete time-wasters and energy-suckers. There are emotions we have, natural ones that makes us human. There are higher ‘feelings’ to which we aspire.Guilt is not even an emotion. It’s a conspiracy!Pamir | Reiki Help Blog´s last blog post..Some extraordinary musicRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Are you a hologram? 9 months ago
Truth of the matter is that energy which travels at or slower than the speed of light is physical or material energy and it’s measurable. Energy which travels faster than the speed of light is subtle energy and it’s not measurable. At the quantum level particles can become waves and turn back to particles, and particles at great distances can influence each other. As humans we’re uniquely equipped to experience physical or subtle energy, and experience life at the particle or wave level.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog’s last blog post..Some extraordinary musicRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Got Optimism? 9 months ago
You’re born, you get wounded. That’s my version of the Buddha’s first noble truth. You’re right, cynicism is a coping mechanism & cynics need a lot of love. The materialistic point of view says: It’s a random universe, life has no inherent meaning. Hard to go anywhere from there. Some have an innocent heart to begin & it remains so despite difficult experiences. Others need help returning to an innocent heart.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog’s most recent blog post..Generating Compassion with Reiki Distant HealingRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman

Mama I’m Coming Home 9 months ago
A difficult reality. Glad you provided resources. It isn’t a one-way street however. There are plenty of battered men too. And also, nonphysical “violence” is even more pervasive and damaging. I too hold the stories. As a healer, I am a story-holder. There are many super heroes who break the cycle and get back their lives. I’ve helped many and many help themselves. It starts with a decision and great courage, but it CAN start.Pamir | Reiki Help Blog’s last blog post..Reiki as it isRead more comments by Pamir Kiciman
